Andy Harris thinks you're rude.

At a debate in Cambridge, where he lives, Eastern Shore voters laughed when he blamed Democrats for the price of diesel. He pointed at one of them and told her she was rude.1 After eight terms in Congress, that is how he talks to the people he works for.

So who is being rude?

The League of Women Voters invited Andy Harris and his opponent to a public forum in Cambridge. When the conversation turned to fuel prices, Congressman Harris blamed Democratic environmental rules for what Shore families are paying for diesel. The room laughed.1

He did not answer the laughter with a better argument. He lectured the audience about the First Amendment, then singled out a woman in the crowd.

“You should let me finish the sentence, ma'am. You are rude.”Congressman Andy Harris, October 13, 20261

When the moderator asked both candidates to urge their supporters to be polite and respectful, he declined, insisting that “my people aren't interfering with Mr. Schwartz.”2

After the forum, he refused to take questions from a University of Maryland student journalist, wrongly claimed she could not legally record him, threatened to refer her to a prosecutor, and told his staff to get the police to remove her.3

Laughing at a bad answer is not rude. Here is what is.
